TechnicalSubscribeMy Ceredigion and Cardigan BayThis is the blog of Paul Williams, Ceredigion resident since 1970. I am an English and Philosophy graduate of what was once known as St David's University College, at Lampeter . I played bass in Dyfed's first punk band and, living in Llandewi Brefi, had a grandstand view of Operation Julie . Eventually, after 2 years playing bass in Brighton's 256th punk band , I returned to Wales to deal in books and then antiques. I've trained and worked as a counsellor, I am a photographer, blog and web designer and I publish the annual Wales Antiques Guide . I am married and a father of one.

So familiar, and yet so strange…
You are not wrong Paul. There’s a shot of our good selves on the Punk Brighton web pages. I expect it made a kind of sense at the time. Chris Anderson (the bass player) has been fretting about the espadrilles he’s wearing; in fact their footwear is the most bizarre part about the whole shoot. Sayer seems to be wearing something knitted by a Yak Herder’s mother…
anyway’s thanks for the visit; I’m always looking for good reliable WordPress Plugins to try out so let me know what you find…
How unmistakeably 80s they all look, and it ain’t just the ‘drilles. .
Regarding your own potted biog, not to be picky but shouldn’t that be Brighton’s 256th *best* punk band?
Re the Lemonboys; the footwear is surprisingly execrable. How familiar and unremarkable it must have seemed at the time. When did it become horrible?
And re the ‘garage; I thought the key components were occassionally meshing nicely at your place. Jolly good fun I thought. And Ian, his committment to, and faith in, his craft amazes me.
Thank you for putting this slideshow up. I was a huge Lemonboys fan back in the day and remember this photoshoot well as I think one of the pics was published in The Argus for reasons that escape me now. I will always be in love with Chris!! Such amazing memories
Well, hi Maxine!
Good to hear from another fan; I love the boys and remember that time fondly too. I’m assuming you’ve been to http://www.punkbrighton.co.uk/mlb.html?
Hey Paul! Yes, have visited punkbrighton many times and come away misty eyed!
Hi again, Paul. How about putting up a Facebook page for the Lemon Boys with some of your pictures and see who turns up? Just a thought?
x
